Dogmeat, Ever Loyal
Legendary Creature — Dog · {R}{G}{W} · Green/Red/White commander
When Dogmeat enters, mill five cards, then return an Aura or Equipment card from your graveyard to your hand.
Whenever a creature you control that's enchanted or equipped attacks, create a Junk token. (It's an artifact with "{T}, Sacrifice this token: Exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn. Activate only as a sorcery.")

What a Dogmeat, Ever Loyal deck needs
Plays as combat trigger. What the commander asks of the other 99 — read from the card and checked by hand.
- artifact and Treasure payoffs (it makes Treasures, Clues or Food on repeat)
- blink and recursion aimed at the commander itself (its value is its own enter trigger)
- auras and equipment worth moving, and bodies to carry them (its text attaches or counts them)
- self-mill, discard and recursion (the graveyard is a resource its text reads)
- a wide board that attacks every turn (the trigger fires on the attack)
The Dogmeat, Ever Loyal deck plan
The roles the Forge fills for this commander, and how many cards of each.
- 6× Exile a permanent you control and return it — the button a value-ETB deck presses
- 14× Equipment and Auras — the things a suit-up commander's trigger and plan are actually made of
- 10× Make creature tokens — a static anthem or a go-wide commander needs a board to be wide
- 8× A permanent whose value is in its enter-the-battlefield trigger — the payload a blink deck reuses
- 6× Put your own cards into your graveyard as a resource
- 5× Make the commander connect — a body that never deals combat damage never triggers
- 5× Actually remove one problem permanent — preventing its damage is not removing it
- 9× Find the exact card the plan needs
- 1× Answer a whole board at once
