Game Plan

Kaalia of the Vast cheats high-impact Angels, Demons, and Dragons onto the battlefield attacking, turning combat into a tutored payload delivery system. Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas convert those entry triggers into exponential damage; Master of Cruelties ends the game in a single attack. The deck tutors its combo pieces (Demonic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, Demonic Counsel) to assemble the kill by turn 4–5.

How It Wins

Kaalia's payload engine: Kaalia attacks, and you put an Angel, Demon, or Dragon from your hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. This triggers Dragon Tempest (giving haste to flying creatures and dealing damage equal to your Dragon count) and Scourge of Valkas (dealing X damage where X is your Dragon count). Ancient Gold Dragon enters and rolls a d20, creating 1–20 Faerie Dragon tokens—each token entry re-triggers both enchantments, stacking damage exponentially. A median roll yields ~205 damage from Ancient Gold Dragon + Scourge of Valkas alone. The instant kill: Master of Cruelties attacks alone via Kaalia, sets target opponent's life to 1, and you win. Tutoring consistency: Demonic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, and Demonic Counsel find Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, or Master of Cruelties on demand. Sol Ring and the mana base (Arcane Signet, Talisman suite, dual lands) enable turn-2 Kaalia or turn-3 tutors into payoff. Backup conversion: Rakshasa Debaser (encore ability) and Stroke of Midnight create token bursts that trigger Dragon Tempest and Scourge of Valkas for secondary kill routes (~36–80 damage median).
