Game Plan

K'rrik's life-payment engine: K'rrik lets you pay 2 life instead of each black mana in a spell's cost. This means cheap black spells like Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, and Mana Vault become nearly free — you spend life instead of mana, accelerating your clock while K'rrik gains +1/+1 counters for each spell cast. Tutors and card selection: Demonic Tutor and Grim Tutor, plus 2 more tutors find your combo pieces or mill them into the graveyard. Tainted Pact and Ad Nauseam dig through your deck at instant speed, converting life into cards. Reanimation and recursion: Animate Dead and Dance of the Dead, plus 2 more similar cards pull creatures from your graveyard onto the battlefield, letting you reuse tutors like Razaketh or combo pieces like Walking Ballista without paying commander tax. Life-drain payoffs: Necropotence, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse convert your life payment into card draw or opponent life loss. The Walking Ballista + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed loop produces Infinite death triggers, Infinite ETB, Infinite LTB on its own — it needs a separate finisher to actually win. Peer into the Abyss is the fastest — it forces an opponent to draw half their library and lose half their life, triggering Sheoldred twice per card drawn, which kills them in one spell.
